What is Astronomy?
Astronomy is the study of all the objects outside of our world. It includes stars, nebulae, planets, moons, astroids, commets and everything of that kind including black holes. I focuses on the physics, chemestry, evolution of such objects and the phenomona that occur outside of the Eaths atmosphere (such as supernovae explosions.
Astronomy is one of the oldest sciences. Prehistoric cultures left nehind astronomical artifacts such as Egyption monuments and Nubian monuments. Early civilizations such as Greeks, Chinese and Indians perfomed methodical observations of the night sky however that invetion of the telescope was needed before astronomy was to become a modern science.
Astronomy is not to be comfused with astrology, the belif that the position of celestial objects have an effect on the way we do things.
